Ayoze Pérez

Ayoze Pérez Gutiérrez (born 29 July 1993) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or left winger for La Liga club Villarreal. He has also represented the Spain national team. Pérez began his career at hometown club CD Tenerife, where he received several personal awards for his performances in the 2013–14 Segunda División season before joining Newcastle United for around €3 million, where he played for five seasons. In 2019, he moved to another English club, Leicester City, as he won the FA Cup and Community Shield two years later. In 2023, he was also loaned to Spanish club Real Betis with five months remaining on his Leicester contract before he joined the club later that year on a free transfer. After one season with Betis, he joined Villarreal in 2024. Pérez previously represented Spain internationally at under-21 level. He made his debut with the senior team in June 2024, and was a part of their UEFA Euro 2024 winning squad.
