Forex Currency Rates & Converter is a simple tool made for anyone with an interest in the foreign exchange market.The program bills itself as a widget, and its interface will look familiar to anyone who's had experience with Apple Dashboard widgets. The program appears as an icon in the system tray, and when it's clicked, the widget appears: a smallish rectangle with rounded edges. The widget is nice to look at, with a sleek, intuitive design. Users can specify which currencies they want to watch, choosing from a large number of different options. The program then displays the symbols for the selected currencies, along with their bid, ask, high, low, change, and range. Clicking on each currency gives users the option to view a chart of the currency's performance or convert it to another currency. The program also features a cool ribbon-style graphic that shows what time markets in New York, London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Sydney open and close. The program has no Help file, and the Information button displays nothing but ads for iForex, the online trading company that created--or at least branded--the program. Overall, we liked Forex Currency Rates & Converter; it's not a tool for serious analysis, but it does a good job of providing at-a-glance Forex information.Forex Currency Rates & Converter is free. It comes as a ZIP file but installs and uninstalls without issues. We recommend this program to all users.
