Players have discovered how long it takes to reach the max level cap of Mario and Luigi: Brothership, which is level 100. Like previous Mario and Luigi games, players will need to be committed and spend dozens of hours in Mario and Luigi: Brothership to reach the max level.
Mario and Luigi: Brothership was released on November 7 as the Nintendo Switch's first entry in the Mario and Luigi RPG series. The iconic duo set out on a new adventure after the Uni-Tree is destroyed, which fractures the world of Concordia and its many islands. While sailing the high seas, players must reconnect the world by exploring the affected islands and helping its denizens. Many enemies will stand in Mario and Luigi's way, and the road to reaching the max level can be quite arduous for the most dedicated fans.

Reaching the max level cap of level 100 in Mario and Luigi: Brothership takes roughly 120 hours, according to the team at Gaming Reinvented. Level 100 requires a grand total of 9,999,999 XP, which is 10 times more XP than what's required to reach level 99 in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga on the Game Boy Advance. Despite being the newest entry in the series, Brothership doesn't have a wide variety of XP-boosting equipment, so players will need to grind quite a lot to level up. In fact, players will need to dedicate 80 hours or so during Mario and Luigi: Brothership's end game, since the average playtime needed to reach the game's ending is 40 hours.
Enemy stats are a factor that contributes to the lengthy playtime needed to reach the max level cap. When comparing enemy stat values to previous games in the series, Gaming Reinvented discovered that enemies in Mario and Luigi: Brothership have much greater HP values and, at times, are on par with bosses from Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam and Mario and Luigi: Dream Team. For example, the Seedlusa enemies from Brothership's final dungeon have 3,086 HP, which is close to Elder Princess Shroob's total HP from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.
Enemy spawns appear to be unreliable in Brothership, since there's no predictable pattern for when enemies will reappear after an area is cleared. It's recommended to leave the island and return in order for all the island's enemies to respawn, and having strong weapons in Mario and Luigi: Brothership will help speed up the grinding process. Nonetheless, the road to level 100 is a long and trying experience for players.
